Res 23 and 24 in order to prevent electricity prices from skyrocketing on Wisconsin businesses and consumers. S.J. Res 23 and 24 explicitly express Congressional disapproval over the Environmental Protection Agency\u2019s rule relating to carbon pollution emission guidelines for coal, oil and natural gas, including the regulations for greenhouse gas emissions. These rules proposed by the EPA would devastate Wisconsin\u2019s power producing plants and would cause escalating electricity prices for the citizens of Wisconsin.\n\n\u201cWisconsin residents shouldn\u2019t have to worry about paying their electric bill, but the Obama Administration\u2019s new rules ensure that Wisconsin\u2019s electricity costs will surge,\u201d said Congressman Grothman. \u201cThe EPA is not only hurting Wisconsin businesses, but also consumers. Make no mistake - this is cap and trade all over again. The EPA is looking to fundamentally change the way electricity is generated, consumed, and distributed.
