At least half of the funding each institution receives will be distributed in the form of emergency cash assistance grants to students who are facing hunger, homelessness, and other hardship.\n\nThe American Rescue Plan provides$36 billion for nearly 3,500 public and private, nonprofit colleges and universities nationwide.\n\n\"Wisconsin has top-notch universities that provide a stellareducation and training, drawing people in nationally and internationally. Many local students at colleges and universities have faced financial struggles due to the pandemic, and it\u2019s important that we respond to their needs by investing in their success. That's why I am thrilled to announce funding that will allow these students to continue following their dreams, pursuing an education, and meet their basic needs.\n\nI am also pleased that President Biden has lifted Trump\u2019s mean-spirited, xenophobic ban on federal relief funds being used to support undocumented students.
