This appropriations package is the product of a conference committee between the House and Senate and would complete 6 of the 12 annual appropriations bills in advance of the January 30th funding deadline.\n\n\u201cAfter a harmful Democrat-caused shutdown in 2025, Congress finished the year strong by passing three full-year spending bills. We are starting 2026 even stronger with the passage of another three-bill package in the first week of the second session of the 119th Congress. We are funding the federal agencies Wyoming relies on every day while spending nearly $2 billion less than levels projected under the current continuing resolution. H.R. 6938 also invests $20.8 million in Wyoming infrastructure projects that I requested in Community Project Funding,\u201d stated Rep. Hageman.\n\nBackground:\n\nCongress appropriates discretionary funds for all the federal agencies each fiscal year through 12 appropriations bills. If signed into law, H.R. 6938 would complete 6 of those bills, avoiding another harmful shutdown for the agencies which most directly serve Wyoming.\n\nH.R. 6938 makes appropriations for agencies such as: the Departments of Commerce, Energy, the Interior, and Justice; the U.S. Forest Service; the Bureaus of Indian Affairs and Education; and the Environmental Protection Agency. Notable provisions of the bill are:\n\n$20.8 million in Community Project Funding requested by Rep. Hageman\n\n$14.6 million for the Fort Laramie Canal Tunnel Restoration Project\n\n$1 million for the Northern Arapaho Tribe, Arapaho Industrial Park Wastewater Improvements Project\n\n$1 million for the City of Mills - Lower Mills Hydrant, Service, and Valve Replacement Project\n\n$1.75 million for the City of Casper - North Platte Sanitary Sewer Project\n\n$600,000 Carbon County - Police Pursuit Vehicle Acquisition\n\n$828,000 City of Casper - Police Fleet Vehicle Replacement\n\n$1 million Town of Jackson - Snow King Complete Street Project\n\nFully funds the Unleashing American Energy agenda by increasing funding for on and offshore oil and gas development on federal lands and waters\n\nFully funds the Payments in Lieu of Taxes (PILT) program, estimated at $550 million\n\nIncreases funding to $570.06 million for Tribal Public Safety and Justice programs and expands the DOI Opioid Reduction Task Force to target disrupt drug smuggling and cartel operations on tribal lands\n\nCuts the EPA\u2019s budget by $320 million, or nearly 4%\n\nProhibits the drawdown of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to entities controlled or owned by the Chinese Communist Party\n\nIncreases funding for the Drug Enforcement Agency to combat fentanyl and reduces funding for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives\n\nMaintains longstanding conservative riders that protect the Second Amendment and Hyde pro-life protections\n\nCuts and eliminates funding for woke, green spending from the Biden administration, such as Biden-era Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, zeroing out funds for Department of Energy\u2019s Office of Energy Justice and Equity, and eliminating funding for environmental justice\n\nExempts farmers and livestock producers from burdensome greenhouse gas permitting and reporting requirements\n\n###", 1, "2026-04-04T05:28:40Z", "2026-04-04T05:30:10Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://hageman.house.gov/media/press-releases/hageman-votes-advance-three-appropriations-bills-senate"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8054659701883793, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
