This marks the 5th appropriations bill passed by the Republican led House. In contrast, the Democrat led Senate has yet to pass any appropriations bills. Included in H.R. 4394 were two amendments sponsored by Rep. Hageman.\n\nCongresswoman Hageman stated, \u201cLess than 24 hours after swearing-in Speaker Johnson, House Republicans are picking right back up with passing appropriations bills. The Energy and Water Appropriations bill will rein in spending and put the brakes on so-called \u201cclimate change\u201d policies that include an ever-increasing number of stifling regulations. I am proud to have two of my amendments included in this legislation.\n\n\u201cMy first amendment will prohibit funds for the Department of Energy's implementation of its proposed Industrial Decarbonization Roadmap \u2013 a plan that would kill good paying jobs in the fossil fuel industry and cause further inflation. The second will prohibit the use of funds to finalize, implement, administer, or enforce tyrannical energy Conservation Standards for Consumer Water Heaters \u2013 another method for the Biden administration to hold affordable and reliable home appliances hostage to the will of the federal government, all under the guise of reducing global emissions while enforcing an energy transition that will result in energy poverty for all Americans.\u201d\n\nDetails of H.R. 4394:\n\nPrioritizes energy security and economic competitiveness by:\n\nSupporting domestic uranium enrichment capabilities, including high-assay low- enriched uranium (HALEU) availability, which is essential to reduce U.S. reliance on foreign uranium sources to power current and future commercial nuclear reactors.\n\nProviding more than $200 million for the production of critical minerals.\n\nProhibiting oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to be sold to any entity owned by or under the control or influence of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or to any other entity that intends to export to China.\n\nInvesting in construction, operation, and maintenance of our nation\u2019s ports and inland waterways to ensure goods can be moved safely to and from global markets.\n\nReins in wasteful Washington spending by:\n\nRescinding $5.58 billion from the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).\n\nEliminating funding for unrelated climate change activities in the Corps of Engineers and Bureau of Reclamation, including electric vehicle procurement and \u201cclimate cops\u201d across the Corps.\n\nTerminating the Biden Administration\u2019s Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rule, returning to state control of waterways that historically have not fallen under federal jurisdiction.\n\nProhibiting the use of funds to promote or advance Critical Race Theory (CRT).\n\nProhibiting the implementation, administration, or enforcement of the Biden Administration\u2019s executive orders on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T00:49:26Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://hageman.house.gov/media/press-releases/republican-led-house-5-democrat-led-senate-0"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.7820711471140385, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
