Harold \u201cHal\u201d Rogers (KY-05) announced House passage of the first of 12 federal funding bills for fiscal year 2027 on Friday, providing $157 billion for Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies. The bill includes more funding to support President Trump\u2019s America First agenda with critical investments for veterans\u2019 care, military readiness and modernization.\n\n\u201cSupporting our American heroes \u2013 both our veterans and active servicemembers \u2013 remains at the top of our priority list on Capitol Hill,\u201d said Congressman Rogers, a senior member of the House Appropriations Committee. \u201cWe are increasing funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs by nearly $84 billion more in 2027 to improve VA medical facilities, services and research to ensure our veterans receive the benefits they deserve. For our veterans in rural areas, it ensures they have transportation for medical care as well.\u201d\n\nThe Military Construction, Veterans Affairs and Related Agencies Appropriations Act (H.R. 8469) fully funds veterans\u2019 health care programs, benefits, mental health services and critical VA programs, including the Toxic Exposures Fund, Opioid Addiction Treatment and Veterans Electronic Health Records.
