Covington is one of 17 Georgia communities to benefit from this $2.6 million investment aimed at reducing energy consumption, lowering emissions, and improving energy efficiency.\n\n\u201cCovington is leading the way in transitioning to clean energy with the addition of eight new electric vehicle charging stations,\u201d said Congressman Johnson. \u201cThis funding will help make clean transportation more accessible and support our community\u2019s efforts to reduce its carbon footprint while creating more economic opportunities in Georgia\u2019s Fourth District.\u201d\n\nThe Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA), which administers the program, selected Covington\u2019s project as part of a broader initiative to enhance energy efficiency across the state.
