This annual district-specific competition invites students to create and submit their original apps, showcasing their talent in coding, STEM, and computer science. More than 40 students competed from four high schools from throughout Georgia\u2019s Fourth. The first-place winners will travel to Washington, D.C. in April 2025 to accept their award with other winners from Congressional districts throughout the nation.\n\nThe winners are as follows:\n\nFirst Place: Emma Lane, Nicholas Jovanovich, Mary Lawton Jones, Ella King\n\nApp: Voting Buddy\n\nSchool: Chamblee High School\n\nWatch the App Demo\n\nSecond Place: Inioluwa Adeseye\n\nApp: Health Haven\n\nSchool: Arabia Mountain High School\n\nWatch the App Demo\n\nThird Place: Joel Lindo, Victor Olufowote\n\nApp: CuisineQuest\n\nSchool: Rockdale Magnet School for Science and Technology\n\nWatch the App Demo\n\n\u201cEvery year, I am continually impressed by the ingenuity and creativity demonstrated by the students in our district through the Congressional App Challenge,\u201d said Congressman Johnson. \u201cI\u2019m proud of all the students who participated, and I am excited to celebrate these students\u2019 hard work and look forward to seeing their future achievements.\u201d\n\nThe Congressional App Challenge was created to encourage students to explore STEM, coding, and computer science through hands-on learning. The challenge is designed to inspire, include, and innovate by actively engaging students from underrepresented communities in technology and providing them the platform to connect directly with policymakers. Each year, winners from across the nation have the opportunity to have their app displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building for one year.\n\nThe Congressional App Challenge was first launched in 2014 and has since reached over 40,000 students across all 50 states, with students submitting apps in a wide range of categories \u2013 from civic engagement to health and education.
