The grant to Maryland is part of a $6 million allocation to states from the Bay Program to address agricultural nutrient runoff. A breakdown of state allocations is below:\n\nPennsylvania: $3,695,112\n\nVirginia: $1,110,191\n\nMaryland: $695,940\n\nDelaware: $364,540\n\nNew York: $79,536\n\nWest Virginia: $54,681\n\nRep. Andy Harris made the following statement:\n\n\"As a member of the Appropriations Committee, I am proud to support funding of this critical program. Agricultural runoff is a significant contributor to harmful algal blooms in the Bay, and with this funding Maryland will be able to further its efforts to partner with farming operations to improve Bay health.
