The legislation allows concealed carry permit holders to carry a concealed handgun into or possess a concealed handgun in another state that allows concealed carry. Congressman Andy Harris (MD-01) released the following statement in support of the legislation:\n\u201cThe Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act is common sense legislation that will only make our country safer. Every state in the Union has now adopted a concealed carry law. More than 12 million citizens have carry permits. And yet, the nation\u2019s violent crime rate has fallen by 51 percent and hit a 43 year low. The Second Amendment helps keep Americans safe.
