The State Department is currently receiving approximately 400,000 passport applications each week.\n\nLocal events like this provide assistance with renewing or applying for a passport. In total 150 passport applications were processed, allowing attendees the ability to plan for upcoming international travel. The event follows the Passport Day held in the Waterbury office of Congresswoman Hayes in April, where over 100 applications were processed.\n\n\u201cPassport Day was incredibly successful. Over 150 passport applications were processed in 4 hours, with 90 of those applications being first-time applicants,\u201d said Congresswoman Hayes. \u201cI want to thank my wonderful staff and the Department of State for swiftly assisting constituents. Moving forward, my office will continue to stand ready to help with emergency passport issues and all other casework.\u201d\n\n\u201cEverything went very smoothly. We were walk-ins, as it was pretty full up and we got in and out in less than an hour.
