For many, she's helped them obtain money they've earned or claim benefits they were promised by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Social Security Administration, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Internal Revenue Service, among other federal agencies  for a total of $1,214,071 so far this year.\r\nWhether it's a Vietnam veteran who needs disability benefits assistance or a senior whose Social Security check is being shortchanged, my job is to advocate for Southwest Washington residents, Herrera Beutler said. It can be pretty intimidating for anyone to navigate the bureaucracy of a massive federal agency, but my knowledgeable staff and I are here to assist.\r\nSolving problems for individuals through casework is one of the most rewarding parts of my job. I'm celebrating this million-dollar milestone to let the community know that my team and I are effective at getting results, so they shouldn't hesitate to call me for help.\r\nMore than just dollars and cents\r\nHerrera Beutler's office is ready to assist other residents needing help with a federal agency, and her services are not limited to the recoupment of money. For instance, Craig from Vancouver was expecting a box of family photos that his sister-in-law had sent to him from Russia. Unfortunately, the zip code on the label was damaged and over several months, the precious box of photos was shipped back and forth between mail facilities in the U.S. and Russia.Craig was unable to locate the package, so he contacted Herrera Beutler for help.\r\nHerrera Beutler and her staff contacted the U.S. Postal Service and, after two weeks, had helped locate the package and ensure it was finally delivered to Craig and his wife.\r\nSouthwest Washington residents can request help on Herrera Beutler's website at JHB.House.Gov or by calling her Vancouver office at (360) 695-6292.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://herrerabeutler.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=401638"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.8597527630627155, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
