I voluntarily sold my publicly traded individual stocks shortly after taking office and believe every Member of Congress should be held to that same standard. There\u2019s still way more work to do to clean up Washington, but this is an important step in the right direction to restore integrity to public service and our nation\u2019s elections.\u201d \u2014 Congresswoman Ashley Hinson\n\nBackground:\n\nThe Voter ID Act requires voters to present a photo ID when voting in federal elections, while ensuring eligible voters can still cast a provisional ballot if they forget their ID.\n\nThe Stop Insider Trading Act prohibits Members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children from purchasing publicly traded stocks. It also increases transparency by requiring advance public notice before covered stock sales and establishes penalties for violations.\n\nHinson does not trade stocks.
