Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) and Representative Warren Davidson (R-OH) introduced legislation to protect American proprietary research from Communist China. The Biological IP Protection Act will ensure that cutting edge American intellectual property is not given to our foreign adversaries. Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), Senator Maggie Hassan (D-NH), and Senator Ted Budd (R-NC) introduced the companion legislation in the Senate.\n\nRep. Many companies, including in Southeastern Pennsylvania\u2019s vibrant life sciences community, either don\u2019t realize or don\u2019t fully understand the risks posed by sending synthetic DNA and RNA sequences to Chinese labs, even though we can safely do this work at home. Safeguarding this information through strong IP protections is essential to maintaining American\u2019s leadership and competitiveness in biotechnology. I\u2019m proud to partner with Rep.
