Congressman Hoyer was joined by Greenbelt\u2019s Mayor Emmett Jordan.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cI was pleased to visit the St. Hugh Ladies of Charity Food Pantry today to see firsthand how they are helping to provide nonperishable food items to families and individuals in the Fifth District,\u201d stated Congressman Hoyer. \u201cFood pantries play a vital role in assisting families who might otherwise have no place to turn for food, especially during the holiday season. I had the opportunity to greet the hardworking staff and volunteers from the pantry to discuss how they are continuing to better serve our communities. Ladies of Charity has done remarkable work providing important services to families and individuals who are in need, and I look forward to continuing to support their work.\u201d\r\n\r\n\tThe Ladies of Charity is the world\u2019s oldest faith-based volunteer group formed in 17th century France, and is recognized throughout the world as champions of the poor and underprivileged. The Ladies of Charity at St. Hugh of Grenoble Catholic Church was established in 1946.
