Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today after the Maryland Insurance Administration announced that Evergreen Health will not offer health plans on the individual market in 2017:

“I am deeply concerned that Republican efforts at the national level to undermine the Affordable Care Act have led to the instability of co-ops, including Evergreen Health in Maryland. This instability creates disruption in the marketplace and can potentially threaten access to health coverage for many Marylanders. I am focused on ensuring that Evergreen’s current customers can continue to access affordable health coverage through the Maryland Health Connection, and I will be working closely with the Maryland Delegation, Maryland Insurance Commissioner Al Redmer, and other stakeholders to protect and strengthen Maryland’s marketplace in the months and years to come. I will also strongly oppose continued efforts to repeal the Affordable Care Act, which would take away coverage from nearly half a million Marylanders.”", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z
url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at
url
https://hoyer.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=25&itemid=2696
