Astronaut Arnold was raised in Bowie, Maryland, and was selected as a Mission Specialist by NASA in 2004. He is a member of the Expedition 55/56 Space Station crew, and is expected to launch in March 2018. This will be his second spaceflight.  \u201cI join in wishing my fellow Terp, Astronaut Arnold, the best of luck on his upcoming spaceflight,\u201d said Congressman Hoyer. \u201cI\u2019m very proud that an impressive Marylander such as Astronaut Arnold will be representing the United States on this upcoming mission.
