Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement regarding the nearly 15% increase for unsubsidized individual Maryland marketplace health insurance plans in 2027:\n\n\u201cDonald Trump and Republicans ran in 2024 on addressing inflation and bringing costs down. They misled American families. Costs are only going up - and faster - because of their policies. We\u2019re now seeing that reflected in health-insurance premiums for coverage through the state health-care exchanges. In Maryland, even though our state officials are doing everything possible to keep costs down, premiums for unsubsidised plans are rising an average of 14.6% for 2027. This is a direct result of Republicans\u2019 decision to remove eligibility, permit ACA subsidies to lapse, and allow critical tax credits to expire.\n\n\u201cDemocrats are fighting to lower costs for health care, groceries, consumer goods, gas, and diesel.
