Workers are recovering from years without pay increases, the decimation of their defined benefit pension plans, and a previous management who did not respect them or even the quality of work. Today\u2019s vote makes it clear that Boeing still has more work to do to earn the trust of workers and to put more on the table for a fair contract.\n\n\u201cI have been proud to stand with the Machinists throughout this strike. Every worker deserves fair pay, good benefits, and a safe workplace. I hope to see both parties come back to the table to negotiate a deal that is acceptable to the union, because at the end of the day there is no Boeing without the IAM.\u201d\n\nJayapal has supported IAM Machinists throughout the strike, joining them on the picket line and rallying with them.
