In 1990, I was grateful to be an observer in Bulgaria for the first post-communist election and saw firsthand how important democracy is in Bulgaria. The people have been an inspiration to me with their personal capabilities and extraordinary heritage. Together, our two nations have grown with mutual benefit for economic opportunities and national security,\u201d said Congressman Wilson.\n\n\u201cOn this auspicious 120th anniversary, I\u2019m pleased to recognize Bulgaria as America\u2019s close friend and ally, and a place to where so many great Illinoisans trace their roots.
