Her tireless advocacy on behalf of her constituents was an example to all members.\n\nHer ten years in Congress were preceded by nearly two decades of service as a county judge and later as county prosecutor, where she honed skills that made her such an effective advocate for urban issues in Congress.\n\nWhile Stephanie and I were often on opposite sides during House Floor debates, we worked together seamlessly on many issues of paramount importance to our state. I was honored to stand with her many times in support of Ohio's defense sector and the numerous jobs it supports. The experience she brought to these efforts was invaluable.\n\nPolly and I offer our deepest sympathy to her son, Mervyn, and all of her family and friends.", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-06T21:14:27Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://jordan.house.gov/media/press-releases/jordan-statement-passing-congresswoman-stephanie-tubbs-jones"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.6928119584918022, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
