Kean, Jr.", "K000398", "kean.house.gov", "kean", "https://kean.house.gov/media/press-releases", "scraper", "Contact: Dan Scharfenberger\n\n(December 1, 2023) WASHINGTON D.C. - Representative Tom Kean, Jr. (NJ-07) cosponsored H.R. 2365, the National Plan to End Parkinson\u2019s Act, legislation to unite the federal government in a mission to cure and prevent Parkinson\u2019s disease, alleviate financial and health burdens on American families, and reduce government spending over time.\n\nParkinson\u2019s disease is the second most common \u2013 and fastest growing \u2013 neurological disease globally with nearly 90,000 new cases diagnosed every year.\n\nCongressman Kean recently visited the Parkinson and Movement Disorder Alliance workshop in Westfield.\n\n\u201cMany families know and have experienced the pain and fear associated with a Parkinson\u2019s diagnosis,\u201d said Congressman Kean. \u201cI am proud to cosponsor this bill, commonsense legislation that will put us in the right direction in finding a cure for Parkinson\u2019s and helping those who are currently affected.\u201d\n\nThe National Plan to End Parkinson\u2019s Act will create an advisory council comprising members of federal agencies that supports research, care, and services for Parkinson\u2019s, plus caregivers, patients, and other non-federal experts.\n\nSpecifically, the council will:\n\nEnsure coordination among federal entities with responsibility for managing, treating, and curing Parkinson\u2019s disease\n\nEvaluate all current federal programs related to Parkinson\u2019s\n\nWrite a national plan to prevent and cure Parkinson\u2019s, and reduce the financial impact of the disease on patients and the federal government\n\nReport back to Congress on progress toward the plan\u2019s goals\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-08T01:14:16Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://kean.house.gov/media/press-releases/kean-cosponsors-national-plan-end-parkinsons-act"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 0.9749098680913448, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
