This legislation would prohibit the use of official travel funds by Members of Congress for flight accommodations that are not coach class.\n\n\u201cPublic service should never be used for personal luxury, and taxpayers should not be footing the bill for Members of Congress to fly first class,\u201d said Congressman Kean. \u201cEvery taxpayer dollar should be treated with respect and used responsibly. I am fighting to ensure that politicians put the public first and put an end to any kind of abuse that funds special privileges for elected officials.\u201d\n\nThroughout his time in the House of Representatives, Congressman Kean has been a leader in ethics reform, spearheading efforts to ban members of congress from trading individual stocks.
