More than 1,200 political prisoners remain behind bars in Belarus, and I reiterate my call for their immediate release.\n\nThe people of Belarus have lived under Lukashenka\u2019s rule for 30 years, and as we approach upcoming presidential \u201celections\u201d next year, we must continue to support the democratic opposition and Belarusian civil society.
