Congressman Fred Keller (PA-12) on Tuesday announced the United States Department of Agriculture has approved a Rural Energy for America Program Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency grant of $32,422 for Irion Lumber Company in Wellsboro to purchase and install a ground mounted solar array.\n\nThe project will grow current energy output at the facility and save $9,365 per year. Irion Lumber contributed $97,268 to the project.\n\nThis grant will go a long way toward helping Irion Lumber increase its renewable energy output and save money while being self-sufficient, Congressman Keller said.
