Mike Kelly (R-PA) and U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) to designate U.S. Route 20 as the National Medal of Honor Highway. The bipartisan, bicameral bill has already passed the U.S. Senate and now heads to President Biden's desk for his signature.\n\nIn the 16th Congressional District, U.S. Route 20 runs through Erie County. U.S. Route 20 runs coast-to-coast from Massachusetts to Oregon. This week's passage in the U.S. House comes after legislatures and governors in all 12 states along U.S. Route 20 have designated their state Medal of Honor Highways.\n\n\u201cThis designation covers more than 3,000 miles through Erie County and along U.S. Route 20, America\u2019s longest highway. By designating U.S. Route 20 as the \u2018National Medal of Honor Highway,\u2019 we commemorate all 3,519 recipients of the award, both living and passed,\u201d said Rep. Kelly. \u201cIt\u2019s my sincere hope that the millions of Americans who travel the highway each year \u2013 from Bend to Chicago to Erie to Boston - will take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary sacrifice, courage, and devotion exhibited by every single Medal of Honor recipient.
