Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) joined his colleagues in support of this legislation, as it passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support. \r\n          share:\r\n          f \r\n          t \r\n        \r\n      \r\n      Washington, DC  Yesterday, the House passed H.R. 5946, the U.S. Appreciation for Olympians and Paralympians Act to amend the federal tax code so that Olympic medalists will not be taxed on their victory' bonus. Congressman Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) joined his colleagues in support of this legislation, as it passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support. This past Monday concluded the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games. In conjunction with the bill's passage and the end of the 2016 Summer Olympics, Congressman Kinzinger released the following statement to congratulate all the athletes from this year's games: \nCongratulations to our 2016 Olympians and Paralympians across the country and here in Illinois who represented Team USA so proudly. The 2016 Summer Games were incredible to watch and as a nation, we couldn't be prouder of all our athletes. \nThis week, the House voted to exempt medalists from the burdensome taxes on their winnings. You worked hard, represented your country on the world stage, and we are proud to serve you here in Congress.
