All of the students live in the 16th District of Illinois and have applied for admission to one of the U.S. Military Academy institutions. Following the ceremony in Ottawa, Congressman Kinzinger released this statement:\r\nWe have the greatest military in the world, and it's because our men and women volunteer to protect and defend this great nation and the values we hold dear. This year, I had the privilege to nominate 19 incredible students from the 16th District as they take the next steps in their education through servant leadership. \r\nThe Military Service Academy application process is very competitive and the training programs can be grueling. I'm very impressed by each of our nominees, humbled by their willingness to serve, and wish each one of them the best of luck in this process and in their future endeavors. \r\nThe reception was hosted for the nominees and their families, with local media in attendance. Please visit the Congressman's Facebook page for photos from the reception that will be shared in the 2018 Military Service Academy Nominations Reception photo album. \r\nNOTE: The students and their respective academy is listed in the table below.\r\n\r\n\r\n    \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Aeris Butler\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Rockton\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Kekoa Gross\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Ottawa\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Andrew Hancock\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Ottawa\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Kassidy Hansen\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Wilmington\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Brookelyn Messenger\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Poplar Grove\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Keegan Smith\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            DeKalb\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Nathaniel Stout\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Polo\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Lael Versace\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Rockford\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Reagan Wells\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Roscoe\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Christopher Winters\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Loves Park\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Air Force\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Nolan Ahlden\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Ashkum\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            James Cerny\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Kingston\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Aidan Filipovic\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Poplar Grove\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Matthew Grant \r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Belvidere\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Noah Knight\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Rochelle\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Devin Lee \r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Streator\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Sadie Luhman\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Belvidere\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Clinton Schielein\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Dixon\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Naval\r\n            \r\n        \r\n        \r\n            \r\n            Nathaniel Garard\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            Gibson City\r\n            \r\n            \r\n            West Point", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://kinzinger.house.gov/news/documentsingle.aspx?DocumentID=399960"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.3596520293504, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
