The public is asked to arrive early to help limit traffic congestion. Hundreds are expected to attend. The ceremony will be broadcast live on KTVB-Channel 7. Isabella Gerard of Boise will help throw the switch when the tree is lit. C-SPAN will cover the Dec. 6 tree lighting at 3 p.m. MST, 2 p.m. PST.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cI am so proud that Idaho\u2019s First Congressional District is providing this amazing tree to highlight the celebration of Christmas at the Capitol, and I\u2019ll be honored to represent Idahoans at the tree-lighting ceremony,\u201d Labrador said.\r\n\r\n\tMeanwhile, the tree will make 15 stops in Idaho, including Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cIdahoans have a great opportunity to enjoy some early Christmas spirit as the tree tours our beautiful state,\u201d Labrador said. \u201cI invite them to join me in the celebration Monday at the Statehouse.\u201d\r\n\r\n\tThe tree from the Payette National Forest is the second U.S. Capitol Christmas tree to come from Idaho. It was chosen from among four finalists that met specifications set by the Architect of the Capitol. Idahoans created 18,000 ornaments to decorate the big tree and companion trees from Idaho that will grace many sites in Washington including the offices of Idaho\u2019s Congressional Delegation.\r\n\r\n\tThe tree also will stop in Utah, Colorado, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and Maryland before reaching the Capitol.
