Ra\u00fal Labrador (R-ID) voted for a Continuing Resolution (C.R.) tonight that would keep the government open past midnight, while delaying the individual mandate for one year.\u00a0 The C.R. now moves to the Senate, which must pass it in order to avoid a government shutdown.\u00a0\u00a0\r\n\r\n\t\u201cFor the second time in three nights, the House voted to keep the government open,\u201d said Rep. Labrador.\u00a0 \u201cThe Senate, on the other hand, refuses to negotiate, even if it means a government shutdown.\u00a0 \u00a0The House is listening to the American people by advocating for a one-year delay of the individual mandate.\u00a0 The Senate, meanwhile, is trying to instigate a shutdown with the hope that Republicans will get the blame.\u00a0 In fact, it will be Senate that gets blamed for refusing to fix the individual mandate.\u00a0 The President has already delayed the employer mandate for big business.\u00a0 There\u2019s no reason we can\u2019t delay it for the American people too.\u00a0\r\n\r\n\t\u201cThe House is ready to work with the Senate, but we need the Senate to come to the table.\u00a0 The Senate has put us on the brink of a shutdown, which is irresponsible and unacceptable.\u00a0 The American people deserve better.\u201d\r\n\r\n\tThe C.R. includes an amendment requiring that all Members of Congress, all congressional staff (including committee and leadership staff), the President, Vice President, and all political appointees within the administration to purchase their health insurance on the ObamaCare exchange.\u00a0 No subsidy would be provided beyond what is required by law for all Americans.", 1, "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z", "2026-03-30T12:14:52Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://labrador.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=49&itemid=841"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.0597668588161469, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
