Ra\u00fal Labrador has been honored by the American Farm Bureau Federation and National Association of Manufacturers for his \u00a0support of agriculture and manufacturing in the United States.\r\n\r\n\tLabrador was named a \u201cFriend of the Farm Bureau\u201d by NFIB for his voting record, sponsorship of legislation, leadership on key Farm Bureau issues and accessibility to farmers, ranchers and Farm Bureau leadership.\r\n\r\n\tLabrador was nominated by the Idaho Farm Bureau and the award was approved by the Board of Directors of the American Farm Bureau. Idaho\u2019s other members of Congress \u2013 Sens. Mike Crapo and Jim Risch and Rep. Mike Simpson \u2013 also received the award.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cThe members of our congressional delegation understand the importance of agriculture to our state\u2019s economy and to our nation\u2019s security,\u201d said Idaho Farm Bureau President Frank Priestley. \u201cIt\u2019s a pleasure to work with these fine gentlemen.\u201d\r\n\r\n\tFarm Bureau is the largest general farm organization in the U.S., with affiliates in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.\r\n\r\n\tLabrador also was honored by the country\u2019s largest manufacturing association, the National Association of Manufacturers, which represents small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and all 50 states. He received the \u201cNAM Award for Manufacturing Legislative Excellence\u201d for his record on 29 key votes in the House in 2013 and 2014.\r\n\r\n\tLabrador earned an 89 percent rating from NAM. Among the scored votes were several promoting diverse energy exploration and development, including speeding approval of the Keystone XL pipeline; regulatory, tax and tort reform bills; and both all-out repeal of the Affordable Care Act and a one-year delay of the law\u2019s employer mandate.\r\n\r\n\t\u201cThe NAM is proud to stand with lawmakers like Rep. Labrador who understand what is at stake and seek to implement policies that will foster innovation, growth and competiveness,\u201d said Aric Newhouse, senior vice president of policy and government relations.\r\n\r\n\tSens. Crapo and Risch and Rep. Simpson also received the NAM award.\r\n\r\n\tThe Farm Bureau and NAM awards were announced this month. In September, Labrador was recognized by two other major associations for his 2013-14 pro-business voting record.
