Rick Larsen (WA-02), the lead Democrat on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, reaffirmed their support for high speed rail and improved intercity passenger rail service in Washington state and the Pacific Northwest.\n\nIn a letter to Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) Administrator Amit Bose, the lawmakers applauded FRA\u2019s recent announcement of Bipartisan Infrastructure Law grants for the Cascadia High-Speed Ground Transportation (USHSGT) project and Amtrak Cascades corridors while emphasizing the importance of future federal investment in Cascadia UHSGT.\n\n\u201cThese investments are an important first step in investing in rail in the region that will help create a long-term development pipeline of capital projects, take meaningful steps to link communities and improve intercity passenger rail service in the Pacific Northwest.
