Larson (CT-01) voted against House Republicans\u2019 budget resolution, which includes $73 billion to fund Trump\u2019s illegal war in Iran, and $10 billion to advance the so-called \u201cSAVE America Act,\u201d which would make it harder for millions of women, people of color, students, and active-duty troops to cast their ballots\u2014the worst voting restrictions since Jim Crow. Today\u2019s vote follows Larson\u2019s announcement that he is preparing legal action against the Trump Administration, as well as legislation, to cut off funding for the unauthorized war with Iran.\n\n\u201cWith grocery bills on the rise and skyrocketing gas prices at the pump, working families are struggling to make ends meet, and Republicans have no plan for them,\u201d said Larson. \u201cRather than doing anything to lower costs, their budget hands Donald Trump $73 billion to continue his illegal war in Iran, and another $10 billion to interfere in our elections. Taxpayer dollars should be used to support the American people, not double down on this president\u2019s failed agenda and foreign wars. Congress needs to cut off funding for the war before more Americans are killed, not write a multi-billion-dollar blank check to the Pentagon. I stood with my Democratic colleagues to vote against this outrageous proposal.
