On Thursday, June 25, 2009, at 11:00AM on the House Triangle Congresswoman Barbara Lee (CA-9) along with the National Association of People with AIDS and Reps. Maxine Waters (D-CA), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) and Donna M. Christensen (D-VI) will host a press conference to underscore the importance of HIV testing and encourage all people to get tested and know their status.\r\nFollowing the conclusion of the press conference, Congresswoman Barbara Lee and other Members will proceed to the Prevention Works HIV Testing Van, which will be located at the corner of New Jersey Avenue and C Street, SE to be tested. Testing will be available to all until approximately 3:00pm. The HIV/AIDS test that will be administered is the OraQuick (mouth swab test). Individuals will receive their test results within twenty minutes of taking the test. Pre-counseling and post-counseling will be provided and safe sex kits will be distributed as well. All testing and results will be confidential.
