If Congress can\u2019t agree to a bill that cuts reckless spending, then a partial government shutdown might be the only way to force Washington to get serious about its budget.\n\nWe\u2019re also talking about a very short period of time, 30 days.\n\nThe Federal government needs a hard reset to help determine what is essential and what we can live without. When President Trump takes office on January 20th, we can pass spending bills that reflect a more responsible approach and the values Americans overwhelmingly endorsed in November.\n\nIt is critical to get disaster relief to communities that have been devastated by Hurricanes Helene and Milton. We should do this in the most appropriate way as a stand alone measure.
