Mace Secured $124 Million to Support the Lowcountry\n\nWashington D.C. - Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), including two Amendments drafted by Rep. Nancy Mace and $124 million in appropriations for the Lowcountry. In response, Rep. Mace has issued the following statement:\n\n\u201cThe passage of the NDAA provides much-needed funding for our military and national security. We secured multiple amendments and authorized approximately $124 million for the Lowcountry.\u201d\n\nProposals from Rep. Mace included in the final NDAA bill:\n\nAuthorization for a hurricane and storm damage risk reduction project on the city of Charleston peninsula\n\nFederal reimbursement for a project for water navigation in Charleston Harbor\n\n$7,462,000 for stormwater management infrastructure in Beaufort County\n\n$25,583,000 for waste and stormwater projects for the city of Charleston\n\n$7,822,000 for waste and stormwater infrastructure projects for the town of Mount Pleasant\n\n$55,000,000 for infrastructure improvements in and around Lakes Marion and Moultrie\n\n$55,465,000 for the City of Folly Beach for beach renourishment\n\nAuthorizes a feasibility study for the development of water resources in Berkeley County\n\nIncluded Rep. Mace\u2019s Amendment to allow electric aircraft to implement short take-offs and landings\n\nIncluded Rep. Mace\u2019s Amendment to close a loophole and prevent Russia to use its gold reserves to circumvent sanctions\n\nAs promised, Rep. Mace ensured language pertaining to Parris Island\u2019s closure was not included\n\nSouth Carolina\u2019s Lowcountry is home to approximately half of all military installations in South Carolina.\n\nABOUT\n\nCongresswoman Nancy Mace grew up in the Lowcountry.
