Today marks day 20 of the federal government shutdown, making it the third longest in U.S. history, yet Democrats refuse to end their political tantrum.\n\nCongresswoman Nancy Mace (SC-01) released the following statement as the Schumer Shutdown enters its fourth week:\n\n\u201cDay 20 of the government shutdown.\n\n\u201cWhat the Democrats want to do is, they want to put African locusts ahead of paying our troops. They want more than two million dollars to pay for insects in Africa. They want LGBTQ, alphabet soup, millions to go to those people, again, in the continent of Africa. They want QT stuff in Honduras, feminine democracy, it has nothing to do with America.\n\n\u201cIn the meantime, what they\u2019ve done is put our troop pay at risk. We have 34,000 troops here in South Carolina whose pay is at risk on November 1st. Thank God Donald Trump found some money to pay our troops on the 15th. I don\u2019t know if he will be able to come up with that on the 1st, but they\u2019re putting all these foreign insects even and LGBTQ stuff ahead of getting our troops paid, which, we\u2019re also risking 25,000 federal employees getting furloughed, as well as our troops not getting paid November 1st.\n\n\u201cIt\u2019s so un-American, what\u2019s happening today in this country.\n\n\u201cAnd just so you\u2019re aware, if our troops aren\u2019t getting paid, I\u2019m not getting paid.\u201d stated Congresswoman Mace.\n\nSee the full clip of Congresswoman Mace delivering this statement HERE.\n\nAs Democrats hold the government hostage, here\u2019s the ransom they\u2019re demanding:\n\n$24.6 million for \u201cclimate resilience\u201d projects in Honduras\n\n$13.4 million for \u201ccivic engagement\u201d initiatives in Zimbabwe\n\n$3.9 million for LGBTQI+ democracy grants in the Balkans\n\n$2.3 million for \u201cdesert locust reduction\u201d in Africa with a \u201cgender equality\u201d focus\n\n$2 million for \u201corganizing for feminist democratic principles\u201d in Africa\n\n$400 million per year for global climate projects, including a \u201cBlue-Green Bank\u201d in Barbados\n\n$2.7 million to advance \u201cinclusive democracy\u201d in South Africa\n\n$4 million for the \u201cNew Alliance for Global Equality\u201d to expand global LGBTQI+ awareness\n\n$45 million for the Pan American Health Organization, accused of forced labor and human trafficking\n\n$75 million annually for United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), which promotes divisive global agendas and anti-Israel bias\n\n$107 million for the International Labor Organization (ILO), which works to unionize foreign workers and punish U.S. corporate interests abroad\n\n$29 million for the World Trade Organization, long enabling China\u2019s trade abuses\n\nNearly $300 million each year for Somalia peacekeeping operations\n\nUnlimited taxpayer funds for free healthcare for illegal aliens\n\nIn solidarity with South Carolina\u2019s servicemembers, Congresswoman Mace continues to refuse her own paycheck during the government shutdown, emphasizing members of Congress should not be paid while America\u2019s troops go without.\n\nCongresswoman Mace sent a letter to South Carolina financial institutions urging them to protect military families from penalties, fees, or foreclosures during the ongoing shutdown.\n\nOur office will remain open during the shutdown.
