It is joined by Representatives Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01), Monica De La Cruz (TX-15), Dina Titus (NV-01), Don Davis (NC-01), Claudia Tenney (NY-24), and Michael Lawler (NY-17).\n\nSigned into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on July 30, 1965, Medicare has provided health insurance coverage to millions of Americans for more than six decades. Today, the program serves nearly 70 million seniors and individuals with disabilities.\n\n\"For 61 years, Medicare has provided millions of Americans with access to quality health care and greater financial security,\" said Congressman Mackenzie. \"This bipartisan resolution recognizes Medicare's lasting impact while honoring the healthcare providers, caregivers, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services personnel who work every day to ensure beneficiaries receive the care they depend on. Congress must continue to support, protect, and strengthen Medicare for current beneficiaries and future generations.\u201d\n\n\"For 61 years, Medicare has represented a simple promise to Virginians: every person 65 and older or with disabilities deserves access to high quality, affordable health care,\" said Congressman Vindman. \"As we mark Medicare's anniversary, we also reaffirm our commitment to protecting and strengthening this vital program for both those using it today and future generations.
