Community health centers play a critical role in making that possible,\u201d said Magaziner. \u201cI am proud to secure $750,000 of federal funding for Wood River Health to expand its waiting area and help serve more patients across Southern Rhode Island.\u201d\n\n\u201cWood River Health is extremely grateful to Congressman Magaziner for championing this federal grant to support the expansion and renovation of our waiting room in Hope Valley. The design of this renovation was informed by our staff and creates a more patient-centered experience during check-in and check-out. Magaziner secured the funding through the Fiscal Year 2026 government appropriations legislation.\n\nWood River Health has experienced significant growth in patient volume, driven by expanded Express Care services, increased demand fordental and behavioral health care, and its role as a Designated Collaborating Organization for Gateway Healthcare\u2019s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic program.\n\nThe funding will allow Wood River Health to expand its waiting area and streamline patient intake to better serve its growing number of patients across Washington County\u2019s small towns and villages, many of whom are seniors.\n\nThe Hope Valley Waiting Room Expansion project will double seating capacity to reduce crowding and improve comfort for patients. The redesigned layout will create separate patient flow areas for medical, dental, and behavioral health services, helping patients move more efficiently through appointments.
