This grant will fund the Salina RISE Drainage and Road Improvements Project.\n\n\u201cThe Big First District of Kansas is expansive and relies on roads and other forms of traditional infrastructure to stay connected around the globe,\u201d said Rep. Mann. \u201cThis grant for Salina will help invest in our economy, get people back to work, and allow for much needed improvements in our community.\u201d\n\nThe CARES Act, passed by Congress in 2020, provided EDA with $1.5 billion for economic development assistance programs to help communities prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus.\n\nThis grant awarded by the EDA will support the City of Salina by improving and expanding utilities and improving storm water drainage near Centennial Ditch in Saline County, a designated Opportunity Zone. The project will consist of the rerouting of existing and installation of new utility infrastructure and will improve streets including Arnold Avenue and Centennial Drive to allow for a safe higher flow of traffic.
