The legislation is a result of both chambers of Congress convening to reconcile differences in each chambers respectively passed proposal.\nCongressman Marino issued the following statement shortly after signing the conference report:\nThis is a critically important win for the American people. The inclusion of important fixes to the federal permitting process is a signal that Congress is serious about getting people back to work. This package is a testament to the seriousness my colleagues in the House and Senate have shown in finding solutions to problems that have held back job creation and economic activity for too long. I am grateful to join my colleagues in passing this historic legislation and hope this kind of action will become more commonplace in Congress.\nMarinos federal permitting reforms have been a central component to his work in Congress for the past two terms. Known as the RAPID Act, those reforms took root in todays conference report. The RAPID Acts aim was simple: to improve environmental reviews and speed up the federal project approval process. The legislation passed in the House of Representatives on three separate occasions as a stand-alone bill. Today, its vital components are intact within the conference report.\nOn November 17, 2015, Speaker Paul D. Ryan named Congressman Marino to serve on the conference committee.
