Miller", "M001211", "marymiller.house.gov", "marymiller", "https://marymiller.house.gov/media/press-releases", "scraper", "FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE\n\nWASHINGTON, D.C. \u2014 Congresswoman Mary Miller (IL-15) introduced a resolution to declare June as \u2018Family Month,\u2019 pushing back against the radical Left\u2019s efforts to erase America\u2019s foundational values through the promotion of \u201cPride Month.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe American family is under relentless attack from a radical leftist agenda that seeks to erase truth, redefine marriage, and confuse our children,\u201d said Congresswoman Mary Miller. \u201cBy recognizing June as Family Month, we reject the lie of \u2018Pride\u2019 and instead honor God\u2019s timeless and perfect design. If we truly want to restore our nation, we must stand united to protect and uphold the foundation upon which it was built \u2014 the family.\u201d\n\nThe resolution has received strong support from pro-family organizations, including Moms for America, the American Family Project, Family Research Council, Eagle Forum, and others.\n\nIt is co-sponsored by Republican Reps. Michael Cloud, Harriet Hageman, Barry Moore, Diana Harshbarger, Randy Weber, Troy Nehls, Mark Harris, and Michael Rulli.\n\nRead more about the resolution in The Daily Wire.\n\nCongresswoman Miller also outlined the importance of this initiative in a new op-ed titled \u201cReclaiming June for the Family.\u201d\n\nThe family is the bedrock of human civilization. It is the first institution created by God and the cornerstone upon which thriving societies are built. Strong families raise strong children, who grow into responsible citizens, courageous leaders, and the hard-working patriots our nation depends upon. Without strong families, America simply cannot survive.\n\nHowever, over the past four years under the Biden administration, we\u2019ve watched an aggressive cultural movement seek to dismantle the idea of a traditional family by redefining marriage and gender, and celebrating lifestyles that reject biblical truth. Our country has lost its moral clarity. Instead of promoting family values, the Biden White House prioritized an agenda of so-called \u201cPride\u201d\u2014 pride in delusion, pride in immorality, and pride in self-gratification.\n\nProverbs 16:18 says, \u201cPride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.\u201d\n\nPride leads to destruction, and nowhere is that more clear than in the abandonment of the family. Pride in rebellion against God\u2019s design for marriage, sex, and parenthood will only bring further harm to our country, our culture, and our children.\n\nThe consequence has become a national crisis. Fewer Americans are getting married. Young people are being told that children are a burden rather than a blessing. And now, alarming CDC reports show that American birth rates have reached record lows. We are witnessing a civilizational decline unfold before our very eyes.\n\nFor this reason, June should be recognized as Family Month, a time to celebrate, strengthen, and support the American family. While the Left uses June to glorify pride in sexual identity and gender confusion, we must reclaim this month to honor what truly sustains our nation: mothers and fathers raising children in loving homes.\n\nPresident Donald Trump has made it clear that restoring a thriving family and supporting children is a top priority. His commitment to increasing the child tax credit, lowering the cost of living, and cutting taxes through the \u201cOne Big, Beautiful Bill\u201d are just a few examples of how Trump supports families.\n\nTrump has also taken bold measures to give power back to parents when it comes to their children\u2019s academics and has taken steps to dismantle the Department of Education. He recognizes that parents, not the government, have the fundamental right to direct the upbringing and education of their children. I have proudly supported these efforts from the most pro-family president in history and will continue to champion policies that empower parents and protect children.\n\nFamily Month would serve as a reminder to our nation of what has made America great in the first place. It would highlight the role families play in shaping our culture, instilling our shared values, and securing our future.\n\nAmerica is currently at a crossroads. We can either continue down a path of cultural decay or we can return to the timeless truths that have always sustained us.
