McBride. \u201cThere is no reason why we can\u2019t do both. The only thing standing in the way has been Republican cruelty.\u201d\n\nEstimates suggest that families will face 200% increases in their monthly premiums in Delaware and beyond if these EPTCs are not extended. McBride and House Democrats have continued to raise this concern with House Republicans and have fought for months to avert this crisis, urging Republicans to negotiate and end what is now the longest government shutdown in United States history.\n\n\u201cLet\u2019s be clear: this health care crisis is a choice by Congressional Republicans and Donald Trump \u2014 who have inserted a one trillion dollar bomb into the American health care system,\u201d McBride continued. \u201cAnd it\u2019s starting to go off. Millions right now are facing skyrocketing premiums. The largest cut to Medicaid in American history is on the horizon. Rural hospitals will close. Doctors offices\u2019 will shutter.\u201d\n\nMcBride\u2019s remarks underscored the devastating impact of the Republican budget adn health care cuts on working families \u2014 in Delaware and nationwide.\n\n\u201cDonald Trump loves to own things and stick his name on them,\u201d McBride said. \u201cWell, now he owns the American health care system.
