McClain introduced this legislation last week, which now has 241 cosponsors.\n\nReps. Steve Scalise (R-LA), Debbie Dingell (D-MI), Jake Ellzey (R-TX), David Scott (D-GA), Darin LaHood (R-IL), Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), Nikema Williams (D-GA), Ann McLane Kuster (D-NH), Brian Babin (R-TX) and Dwight Evans (D-PA) signed on as cosponsors today.\n\n\u201cI\u2019m encouraged that this legislation to honor the 13 servicemembers killed in Afghanistan last week is receiving overwhelming support from both sides of the aisle,\u201d said Rep. McClain. \u201cI urge House leadership to quickly pass this bill so we can honor the lives of our fallen servicemembers.\u201d\n\n\"The 13 service members who were killed in the recent Kabul terrorist attacks are American heroes. They made the ultimate sacrifice protecting innocent men, women, and children in Afghanistan. I am proud to support Congresswoman McClain's legislation, which awards the Congressional Gold Medal to each fallen service member. I would like to offer my deepest sympathies and prayers to the military families who lost a husband, a wife, a son, or a daughter.
