Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) announced that the City of Richmond, Michigan will receive $943,000 for the Main Street Water Main Replacement Project through the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).\n\n\u201cIt is a privilege to fight for communities like Richmond every day in Washington, and I am pleased to help bring home significant funding for the city to improve their water infrastructure,\u201d said McClain. \u201cThis project will revitalize Richmond\u2019s water mains, provide clean drinking water, and secure the longevity of the city's infrastructure for decades to come.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe Richmond City Council sincerely thanks Congresswoman Lisa McClain for her outstanding efforts in securing federal funding for essential water main improvements in our city,\u201d said Tim Rix, Richmond City Mayor. \u201cHer leadership and dedication to our community's infrastructure are greatly appreciated and will have a lasting positive impact.\u201d\n\n\u201cThe federal funding provided by Congresswoman Lisa McClain will provide much needed resources to replace a water main underneath Main Street that dates back to 1916,\u201d said Jon Moore, Richmond City Manager. \u201cHer support is crucial in being able to upgrade our infrastructure while minimizing the disruption to the public.\u201d\n\nThe funding for the project was secured in the FY 2023 Consolidated Appropriations Act and will assist the city in replacing the water main under M-19, which has a history of breaks.\n\nThe funding was awarded from the EPA\u2019s STAG \u2013 Drinking Water State Revolving Fund.
