(February 15, 2024) \u2013 Today, Congressman Morgan McGarvey (KY-03) announced the Department of Transportation will award $13 million to Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport (SDF) to upgrade the airport\u2019s infrastructure, including improving the power system\u2019s sustainability and adding four new screening lanes to the security checkpoint.\n\n\u201cI fly in and out of our airport almost every week. Not only have I heard from many constituents that we need more security lanes, I\u2019ve seen it myself, with lines often spilling out beyond the security area. That's why I\u2019m excited the Department of Transportation is providing $13 million to help people move through our airport safely and easily,\u201d said Rep. McGarvey. \u201cAs bourbonism expands and Louisville becomes a more popular destination, we need to make sure our security lanes can handle the record passengers traveling through our airport. These much-needed investments from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, passed by President Biden and Congressional Democrats, will increase screening capacity at the TSA checkpoint in our airport.
