Mercy Academy Senior Hadley Klusman\u2019s piece, \u201cGrowing Hands,\u201d was selected as the community choice winner.\n\n\u201cI\u2019m so excited to recognize two incredible pieces of artwork that perfectly represent just how creative and talented Louisville students are,\u201d said Rep. McGarvey. \u201cIt\u2019s no surprise that this kind of artistic talent flourishes in our city, but each year I\u2019m blown away by the skill level and individuality we get to see from our high schoolers. I\u2019m excited to see Mattie\u2019s artwork every time I walk to the Capitol, and I look forward to welcoming her to DC to celebrate her achievement!\u201d\n\n\"I\u2019m honored to receive this award. The goal of my art is always to tell a story through what I can create, so it its amazing to know that people really connected with this piece!\u201d said Community Choice Winner Hadley Klusman, Mercy Academy.\n\nOnce a year, each congressional district collects art submissions from local high schools and determines a winner whose piece is displayed in the U.S. Capitol.
