(February 3, 2026) \u2013 Today, the House will begin voting on a Senate-passed government funding package, which includes two weeks of stopgap funding for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).\n\nCongressman Morgan McGarvey, who recently backed articles of impeachment against DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, took to the House floor to oppose the bill.\n\nDOWNLOAD VIDEO HERE\n\nTRANSCRIPT:\n\nMr. Speaker, Congress is deciding whether to fund an agency that has already shown us how it spends taxpayer money.\n\nWhen Republicans gave ICE a blank check last year, ICE used it to kill American citizens.\n\nAnd now ICE wants two more weeks of money \u2013 no strings attached \u2013 to keep their campaign of terror running smoothly.\n\nTwo weeks?\n\nRenee Nicole Good and Alex Pretti were murdered just two weeks apart.\n\nDuring those two weeks, five-year-old Liam Ramos was used as bait and detained.\n\nAnd three more people died in ICE custody during those same two weeks.\n\nI don\u2019t want to be back at this podium in two weeks with a longer list of names, Mr. Speaker.\n\nI urge my colleagues to consider what we\u2019re wagering at this point.\n\nAre we going to give ICE two more weeks to invade U.S. cities in exchange for a pinky promise that we\u2019ll talk about reforms?\n\nForgive me if I don\u2019t believe this President is negotiating in good faith.
