Mike Linnig\u2019s is a cultural institution. New York City has Katz\u2019s Deli. New Orleans has Cafe Du Monde. Louisville has Mike Linnig\u2019s.\n\nIt started as a simple roadside stand on a working farm along the Ohio River, offering fresh fruit, vegetables, and hospitality to those who stopped by. Before long, \u201cMike\u2019s Place\u201d started selling fried fish sandwiches and through floods, world wars, and recessions, the Linnig family has never stopped.\n\nThat modest roadside stand \u2014 it\u2019s now 20 acres that can accommodate 1,000 people from all walks of life with an appetite for getting together with friends and family over the best fried cod and onion rings in America.\n\nSo, I want to congratulate Mike\u2019s grandchildren \u2014 Bill, Theresa, and Nancy \u2014 who continue to run this beloved Louisville institution.
