This internship offers a stipend and will be an incredible opportunity for all of our young people,\u201d said Rep. John McGuire.\n\nBackground:\n\nRep. John McGuire\u2019s Washington, D.C. office offers internship opportunities for students each semester. Each internship is a paid opportunity and runs throughout the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters for college students.\n\nResponsibilities will typically include:\n\nAnswering phone calls for our constituents;\n\nResearching legislation for the Member and legislative staff;\n\nAttending hearings and briefings;\n\nAnswering constituent letters on various issues before the House;\n\nGuiding Capitol tours;\n\nWriting letters and assisting with office management;\n\nand other duties.\n\nInterns will learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a Congressional Office.\n\nThe internship sessions are as follows:\n\nFall Session: Mid-August to Mid-December\n\nSpring Session: Early January to Early May\n\nSummer Sessions: Mid-May through June and July through Mid-August (full-time, 40-hour/week commitment)\n\nApplications to intern in our office are ongoing.\n\nThe Deadline to apply for the two Summer sessions is April 14, 2025.\n\nTo apply for an internship, email Stephen Gallagher at stephen.gallagher@mail.house.gov and apply via our website using the following link: https://mcguire.house.gov/services/internships.
