As a member of the DOGE Caucus, I am supportive of taking a tactical approach when stopping the taxpayer-funded gravy train and rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse. This legislation responsibly reduces discretionary spending and allocates funds for our mission-critical government operations and services.\u201d\n\nH.R. 1968 does the following:\n\nMaintains government operations without increasing the spending of taxpayer dollars.\n\nHelps the Trump Administration with border enforcement, specifically detention and removal operations.\n\nDecreases spending by $7B.\n\nEnhances defense investments and works towards the most significant pay raise for junior enlisted servicemembers in over 40 years.\n\nUpholds responsibilities to our nation\u2019s veterans and ensures full funding for their healthcare services and benefits.\n\nFully funds the program that provides important nutrition assistance to mothers, infants, and children. It includes a more than $500M increase for WIC, as requested by the Trump Administration, for a total of $7.6B.\n\nThis legislation is not associated with an omnibus, which is the first time in years that Congress will not have an omnibus bill.\n\n###", 1, "2026-03-30T01:40:41Z", "2026-04-07T00:15:27Z"]], "columns": ["url", "title", "date", "year", "month", "party", "chamber", "state", "member_name", "bioguide_id", "domain", "scraper", "source", "date_source", "text", "has_text", "collected_at", "updated_at"], "primary_keys": ["url"], "primary_key_values": ["https://mcguire.house.gov/media/press-releases/rep-john-mcguires-statement-continuing-resolution"], "units": {}, "query_ms": 1.8040761351585388, "source": "dwillis/congress-press", "source_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press", "license": "MIT", "license_url": "https://github.com/dwillis/congress-press/blob/main/LICENSE"}
